Types of Resources

Definition of resources:

In this lesson let me help you on types of resources. A resource is any physical or virtual entity of narrow availability, or anything used to assist one earn a living. ...
Types of Resources:

Natural resources are resultant from the environment.

On the basis of origin

* Biotic - Biotic resources are those got from the biosphere. Forests and their products, animals, birds, fish and other marine organisms are significant examples.
* Abiotic - Abiotic resources contain of non-living things. Examples comprise land, water, air and minerals such as gold, iron, copper, silver etc.

On the basis of the period of development

* Potential Resources - Potential resources are those that survive in a region and may be used in the future. For example, mineral oil
* Actual Resources are those that have been stay alive, their quantity and quality firm, and are being used in present times. For example, petroleum and natural gas. This will also help us on final grade calculator

On the basis of renew ability

* Renewable Resources - resources are those that can be regenerated easily. Some of them, like sunlight, air, wind, etc

* Non-renewable Resources –the resources are created over very long geological periods. Minerals and fossils are included in this category.
